Smart Start is an AI-powered assistant that analyzes your quality data and recommends the best tool for the job. Paste an email, spreadsheet data, inspection notes, or any text describing a quality situation. AI identifies the type of data and recommends one or more tools (SPC, NCR, CAPA, Fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.). Click a recommendation and your data is automatically extracted and loaded into the selected tool -- no manual entry needed.

How It Works
Smart Start uses the same QC-Coach AI engine that powers the coaching features across all tools. When you paste data, AI analyzes it against the capabilities of each tool and returns ranked recommendations with confidence levels. If you choose a recommended tool, your raw data is passed through and the tool's AI extractor fills in the fields automatically.
1 Paste Your Data
Copy and paste your quality data into the text area. This can be an email about a customer complaint, rows from a spreadsheet, inspection notes, a report excerpt, or any text that describes a quality situation. The more context you provide, the better the AI recommendation.

2 Review AI Recommendations
AI analyzes your data and recommends 1-3 quality tools, ranked by relevance. Each recommendation includes a confidence level (High, Medium, Low) and a brief explanation of why it fits your data. Review the recommendations and click the one that best matches your intent.

3 Start with Auto-Filled Data
When you click a recommendation, you are taken directly to the selected tool with fields pre-populated from your data. Review the auto-filled fields, make any corrections, and continue with the tool's normal workflow. You always have full control to edit or override any AI-generated content.

Smart Start vs Auto-Fill
Smart Start and Auto-Fill both use AI to populate tool fields, but they serve different purposes. Smart Start is for when you don't know which tool to use -- it recommends the tool and fills it. Auto-Fill is available inside each tool's setup page when you already know which tool you want but have data to extract. Think of Smart Start as the "I have data, help me" entry point and Auto-Fill as the "fill this form for me" shortcut.
Tips for Best Results
- Include as much context as possible. Raw measurement values, part numbers, dates, and problem descriptions all help AI make better recommendations.
- If you have numeric measurement data (dimensions, weights, temperatures), AI is very likely to recommend SPC Quick Check or Attribute Chart.
- Smart Start works in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Paste data in any of these languages and AI will respond accordingly.
